| Some other choices... |

My vote goes to a high-quality noise reduction tool (like Noise Ninja or Noiseware) and DPI-aware output sharpening. Also, a better black and white conversion tool would be nice. It is a bit of shame that Aperture 2 didn't improve this part, especially given Lightroom's kick-ass 7 colour channel mixer!
The latter would work well together with the above mentioned dodge and burn tool! -Tao. |

Definitely Noise Ninja for De-Noising. It is an amazing tool. You should contact these guys immediately. I've got a license for the standalone and I'd certainly pay for a plug-in.
Oh, and of course some sort of professional lens-specific correction tool, like what DXO or the latest version of DPP from Canon are doing. Last edited by Mike : 02.12.08 at 03:27 PM.. |

I already did :-). Perhaps you (and everybody else) should do the same.
Note that Bibble already has editing plugins, and guess what? The first one (they actually ship with) is Noise Ninja! It defaults to "simple" mode. If you want advanced you have to put in a valid NN serial. Very smart co-marketing. Anyway, that's why I figure NN might actually be somewhat likely. I mailed the PK sharpener guys and they responded with "not likely to happen" within like 20 minutes. Pretty strange and somewhat sad to see... Just means someone else will fill the hole and get "rich". -Tao. |
